Part 1 – Smart Subject-Area Tool Apps (explore subject related tools on your iPad)
Presented by the Learning Disabilities Association of Kingston
Part 1: Wednesay May 24 6-7:30 pm (overview – presentation)
Part 2: Saturday May 27 10-11:30 am (hands-on session)
Explore some selected apps such as virtual manipulatives, free online courses (e.g., Khan academy), talking calculators, graphic calculators, science tools, geometry visuals, apps to convert hand written math formulas into typed format, and apps for history, geography, language arts, coding, and more.
Part 1 is on a weekday evening and will be a presentation style overview, followed by an optional Saturday session for individualized “hands-on” exploration.
Attending part 1 may be sufficient for more experienced or independent users. The related part 2 for these workshops will be dedicated to individualized hands-on experience with the apps discussed, or to get help with setting up your iPad.
This workshop is a part of LDA Kingston’s iPad TechSmart Workshop Series 2017:
• A series of 4 free workshops to help you use your iPad to best advantage using built-in tools and some useful apps.
• Who should attend: parents or students with LDs, or those who work with them.
